Observation notes: Common small moth would briefly land to take nutrients from moist sand of Sotol Creek, near the Aguirre Springs Campground, east-facing slope of the Organ Mountains. The mid-day was cool, sunny, and with a light wind. This individual and several others in the vicinity seemed to be territorial, taking many flights near ground level during my visit. A few also sought nutrients from sumac flower buds, not yet opened.
