Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The first picture seems to be this species - based on the tiny size, coloration, and the noticeable veins on the lower wing. The second picture (a different individual, being bullied by a Lilac-bordered Copper) also seems to match the Garita coloration. I am unsure whether the third picture (yet a different individual about 1/2 mile down the road) is the same species or whether it might be the European Skipper instead. I didn't think it was the European because it lacks the blackish veins coming out from the wing edge, but I'm not sure, since it seems pretty colorful. If the second photo represents a different species, I will set up a different record for it.

Coordinator notes: Yes...the Garita Skipperling...you might find the European Skipper if you can find Timothy Grass...that is what it eats and its range is expanding eastward and I think it has been found in Grand County. Mike
