Large Orange Sulphur
Phoebis agarithe

Observation date: August 16, 2020
Submitted by: Robert Gorman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Mated pair on lemon tree leaf by our front gate, I still remember you telling me that these were so fresh that there most be a host plant near by that they are using and you were going to try to find it! Thank you for telling me to be on the look out for these and Orange-Barred. We still are without Orange-Barred but keep looking out for them. One day I was sure I had one fly by, but not sure there were bright orange markings on the top. Maybe some day they will show up on the cassia that we are growing?

Coordinator notes: Be aware female Orange-Barred Sulphurs don't look like the males and can be very white. I know, the only Orange Barred Sulphur I have in my collection I collected in Madera Canyon in 1994 is white and very large!-Ken Davenport
