Observation notes: My husband stepped on this dead butterfly while we were out walking. I salvaged a wing and took a picture. It's a gulf fritillary, isn't it? I know--yawn. A dime a dozen. It's still fun to submit though.

Coordinator notes: Yes, common in LA County, but Gulf Fritillaries are rare or absent in many counties in California.
