Observation notes: This moth was photographed among the stems of dead grass and Amsinckia at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station (bfs.claremont.edu). I posted the image to BugGuide, where Bob Patterson identified it as Caenurgia togataria - Hodges#8734. This moth is common in this particular location.
