Southern Pink Moth
Pyrausta inornatalis

Observation date: September 13, 2012
Submitted by: Lis
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: May be a day flying moth?? Usually I see him in the afternoons. This morning I went out while it was still shady and stirred up the flowers a bit and he came out. He was obviously wanting to hide, kept trying to creep to the underside of whatever leaf he landed on. Normally he's very quick moving, this morning he was a bit slower, so this is the first decent picture I've been able to get.
