Observation notes: Large (3 inches long, about 2.5 inches wingspan), underwing-type moth with blacks, grays, dark green, maroon, whites. There are five or six of these bonking into the windows and fluttering around the porch light. I am sorry that I have such trouble telling the different underwing species apart! They are gorgeous but quite hard to tell apart
