Identification: Forewing orangish brown with gray in outer 1/4. Look for a dark triangle formed by two costal and one median dark brown to blackish spot. Hindwing dark gray.
Wing Span: 1.8-2.5 cm.
Life History:
Flight: Mid-June - early September.
Caterpillar Hosts: Hickories and oaks.

Range: Maine and Quebec to North Carolina, west to Wisconsin and Arkansas.
