Subfamily: Erebinae
Identification: Very similar to Catocala amica but pm. line straighter and less toothed. Prominent brown shading between pm. and st. lines. Forewing slightly broader and more blunt. Hindwing yellowish orange with black only at border, as in Catocala amica.
Wing Span: 3.5-4 cm.
Life History:
Flight: May-June in Florida.
Caterpillar Hosts: Unrecorded; probably oaks.
