Observation notes: This butterfly, which I think is a female, was flitting around and landing on difference parts of several Chenopodium plants. (I think the species is C. album.) The habitat is a disturbed area dominated by non-native grasses, mainly Bromus diandrus and other Bromus sp. and Avena. Several other weedy species, such as the Chenopodium, Amaranth, and mustard (mainly Hirschfeldia) also occur there.
