Sycamore Tussock Moth
Halysidota harrisii

Observation date: August 15, 2014
Submitted by: AryunK
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Can't recall the name of the tree, but it had heart shaped leaves I was sitting under. It crawled onto my glass of lemonaide and then onto me. Seemed really friendly, if that makes sense. Curled into a ball when touched or startled. Very pale light green with spots and little tufts near the back and along the sides. Red faced and smallish. Maybe an inch and a half, two inches tops. I touched it numerous times, but I had no skin reaction.
