Observation notes: Specimen was active on blossom heads of a lantana bush in a planter at the front of a private residence (part of the Hillcrest retirement community) on Park Street in La Verne, about two short blocks north of Kuns Park. The specimen commonly worked blossoms in partial shade on this occasion, thus the grey is darker to the eye in the photos than when the insect was in full sun.
