Observation notes: This individual spent several minutes apparently feeding on most of the blossoms on a California Desert Sunflower plant in the central sector of the botanic garden. Breezes were intermittent, 4 to 8 mph, with the stronger gusts tossing the flower stems enough that the individual foled wings into sail position and clamped its legs around the base of a petal.
