Observation notes: This butterfly was on a native mesquite tree in Scottsdale Arizona, and appeared to be laying eggs. While I got very close (within inches) it did not fly away as is common with most butterflies when getting too close. This is also a host species tree for this butterfly if my research holds. Weather: 82 degree F, sunny, light wind 5mph sw.
