Observation notes: We live in Shawnigan Lake, BC in a wooded area with conifers and alders to name a few. We are in an area that is higher than Victoria so not alot is flowering yet. Temperature is about 15 degrees. The moth was against a rise on a porch stair. When I brushed it, it fell on the ground upside down. I nudged it upright and it stayed there. (first pic) I prompted it to walk on my hand and then settled on another surface. (second pic) When gently touched, it rocked back and forth. It was gone a few hours later when I checked. It is the first one I have seen.
