Observation notes: Measured 9mm TL. ID confirmed by Phycitine expert and referee of those pages on MPG, Brian Scholtens who comments that this species "is a bit variable, but the flat gray with slightly lighter markings, particularly across the middle the wing is distinctive." I refer to these markings as peppery. Now I have an adult to go with the caterpillar of this species that I photographed 4 years ago. Also posted on BugGuide: http://bugguide.net/node/view/1265091
