Double-lined Prominent
Lochmaeus bilineata

Observation date: September 05, 2016
Submitted by: Anne Wills
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The afternoon was sunny, hot, and humid, about 85 degrees. The caterpillar was crossing a shaded area of the cement driveway. Nearby were oak leaves, holly bushes, acorns, euonymous, and a lawn of mixed fescue and blue grass with mixed weeds. As I picked him up on a leaf (to move him to a place where he won't get run over), he rolled over, and his underside appeared sort of dull green or olive-shaded.
