Observation notes: Caterpillar was about 7 cm long. It was crawling across the asphalt of a scenic overpass on Rte 2 in Danville, VT moving toward an area of tall grasses(South side of highway). There was a forested area on the opposite side (North side) of the highway, though it seems unlikely the caterpillar would have survived a crossing. It was 3:42PM on a clear and sunny day with an air temp about 75 degrees F.
