Observation notes: A number of different species were patrolling at the top of a ridge. Tiger Swallowtails were up in the canopy, Spicebush and Zebra Swallowtails were within a few feet of ground-level, and this Mourning Cloak was guarding his territory. Here, he's chasing off an intruding male Spicebush.

Coordinator notes: Seems to be a common behavior seen in the spring, as I’ve witnessed the exact scenario several times. It’s always the Mourning Cloak being the aggressor. They have also been known to “dive bomb” myself and others when walking by. This approval is for the Spicebush Swallowtail. For the Mourning Cloak, a separate entry is needed. -jmgesell
