Observation notes: On scrub oak some clusters of these had so many individuals. very windy, saw lots of larva during period of very high wind. 58 blowing so hard eyes were watering gust made it almost impossible to walk near ridge line. many larva out on top of branches in large groups, tortoiseshell (Calif) on Ceanothus, also some on Chamise maybe brown elfin? also Indra in single individuals
