Observation notes: To whom it may concern,
Hi, good morning! I have an orientation question. I hope you can help me.
It’s been a month since a female ‘Automeris Io’ got into my house. I kept her inside with the hope that she would lay her eggs. Fortunately, she did before passing away.
Now the issue is I don’t know how to take care of them. If you could give me some advise, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Have an excellent day!

Coordinator notes: I just came across your record of this moth as unidentified. I'm identifying the first pic - beautiful moth btw. Sorry there was not a reply in caring for the eggs/larva the female laid before death. Care usually is keeping eggs near moths larva food plant until they hatch and keep them with fresh supply and enclosed. It might be good also in future with any moth species to also keep about 6 inches of soil in the bottom of enclosure, as MANY moths pupae are formed in soil after caterpillar burrows into soil. Thank you! JAMES STEEN
