Observation notes: Roadside opening in dense spruce woods. I covered about 1 mile of ground and only found moths in one small location. Although some are darker than others, I would guess they are all the same species. All have the reddish wash on the front dorsal wings behind the second double line of dark coloration. A sultry day: 75 F and partly cloudy with threatening rainclouds.
