Observation notes: 70 and sunny. I stirred this moth up while mowing my lawn (at this time of the year mostly clover). It flew with a rather heavy flight - wings working harder than its progress would have indicated. Once it landed in delphiniums, it remained at rest for quite a while, allowing me to go inside and get my camera, pull vegetation out of the way etc. Approximately 20 mm nose to tip of folded wings.
