Small Wood-Nymph
Cercyonis oetus

Observation date: August 12, 2017
Submitted by: A_baldini
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: These wood-nymphs were very common around our campsite, nectaring in fields of flowers and often perching on fallen trees. This one was seen on a warm, sunny, and breezy afternoon.

Coordinator notes: Your identification is correct. I don't know what the flower is (you asked in the last submission) other than it is in the composite flower family. It can probably be found if you websearch Colorado mountain wildflowers or mountain wildflowers of Colorado.
