Observation notes: Green form Larva on Pithecellobium dulce, side yard of garden, Brown Form larva on Calliandra, Red Powder Puff. As Per Botanist Ron Vanderhoff/ and Wikipedia. Watched Females lay these eggs/ Female Large Orange Sulphur. Have raised these last summer to adult but the Red Powder Puff is a new to me food Plant for large orange as per our conversation! Hope you are having the Experience of a lifetime in Az. Cant wait so see your list! The larva seem to turn the color of the leaves they are mostly eating. As you can see the young tender leaves on red powder puff are very reddish brown. The young leaves seem to be all there eating, looking to see if they eat the flower parts also.
