Observation notes: Sunny, 82 degrees, light breeze, low humidity. The butterfly sailed past my legs, then landed on the gravel road, staying still for a few moments before flitting off over the roadside weeds. Nearby were oak, maple, sycamore, cherry, locust, beech, sweet gum, dogwood, buckeye, multiflora rose, goldenrod, wingstem, joe pye weed, boneset, tall thistle, lobelia, red clover, mouse ears, cinnamon vine, honeysuckle, poison ivy, grape vines.
