Observation date: November 19, 2017
Submitted by: Moi Gal
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I first noticed this insect about 10 days ago.
Location: It´s been on the side of a wood planter next to the front door of my home, which is under a porch, and next to a koi pond (see attached picture).
Weather: It´s been 65-75 degrees sunny, our typical Santa Barbara weather (CA).
Behavior: It had laid eggs and wasn't moving, but it was alive. Today I noticed that it has been laying more eggs, and still going. The older eggs are changing color, from light gray to darker gray first and now they are turning more purple. There are about 5 eggs with a reddish tone, these are among the oldest eggs.
