Observation notes: my first encounter with this species was 2 days ago. Saw LOTS of them today - about 10 or so. mostly between mile 6 and 7.3. This area has rocky outcrops and lots of woolly sunflowers and other flowers. little fingers of chapparal coming into Gray Pine/Oak open forest.
