Observation notes: one male was seen briefly feeding on a Cotoneaster bush at the beginning of the trail (11:15). When I returned to the trailhead, there were 2 chasing each other on the freshly cut short grass (1:20). I got quick looks at one that looked like a female with some purplish patterns on the upperside. I don't know if the female looks different from the underside or not. I am not sure which sex I photographed on the plantain.
