Coordinator notes: The Aphrodite Fritillary is a member of the greater fritillaries (genus Speyeria). The ventral hindwing markings of this individual, along with its small size, indicates that it is a member of the lesser fritillaries (genus Boloria). In this case, it is an Arctic Fritillary. The band on the ventral hindwing of the Meadow Fritillary is dull yellow, not vibrant white like the Arctic. Also, as stated in your other submission of this species, the Arctic Fritillary is much more abundant in Colorado than the Meadow Fritillary.
