Coordinator notes: This is a great find!! The full trinomial of the anicia checkerspot for this area is Euphydryas anicia wheeleri; which has invaded portions of the Wasatch Range from the Great Basin. This moves this butterfly north about 20 miles from Mona where it has also been found feeding on indian paintbrush (Castilleja chromosa). Tips on raising this taxon can be found at http://www.raisingbutterflies.org/euphydryas-anicia-wheeleri/
