Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Saw this bush with several ‘pouches’ filled with caterpillars of some sort. One or two had dozens or hundreds of individuals. I observed these at about 6,500 feet in the Front Range of Colorado outside Boulder. I have a video which shows them more clearly but so only accept photos which I understand. Some had orange/copper bands running along the body but others had no clear coloring.

Coordinator notes: This is the probable identification, based on the tent, but there are a couple of other species of tent caterpillars that occur in the region. This is the western tent moth.
