Observation notes: My first time trying to identify an unfamiliar butterfly. Found helpful photos on this site. This one was sitting on our front porch for a very long time poking at the stone with its proboscis, and moving wings slowly. Must have been something there it liked! Flew around and came back several times. Sunny, very hot and humid. Big storm the previous night.
