Yellow-collared Scape Moth
Cisseps fulvicollis

Observation date: July 16, 2019
Submitted by: James Lofton
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: 105F-22%-15mph SSE-partly cloudy (miserable) Seen on grass and then it crawled up on a small Cone flower. As I was looking at it, I thought I could see “something “ yellow attached to it. After taking several photos I’m still not sure if it’s just a wound or ? I caught it and took photos and then released back where I found. Slow moving, but seems ok except for that yellow spot. We see one from time to time, usually on thistle blooms or sunflowers.
