Coordinator notes: Difficult ID without the ventral side views. I've noticed on many S. appalachia along the margin of their dorsal forewing, there are 4 dark spots like with S. eurydice. However, in S. appalachia, the first and fourth spot can be more prominent in many individuals (like in your specimen), which isn't the case usually in S. eurydice. This is why I'm leaning towards S. appalachia.
