Observation notes: In a semi-shaded edge of a picnic area with a trickle of water from sprinklers, there is a stand of reedy plants. These are frequently visited by lizards and insects, including this Skipper Butterfly. Not once were the wings spread fully, but a shot or two shows a hint of dorsal edge. The markings are very tricky for me to be sure, but I am thinking it is an Umber Skipper, based mainly on the leading edge of the partially visible dorsal forewing.
