Observation notes: It was just afternoon on a bright sunny day when I saw this butterfly on our butterfly bushes by the front of our house. I went to get my camera and, fortunately, it was still here when I got back. Even more fortunately it was fairly tolerant of my presence as I snapped many photos hoping to get a few good ones.
