Coordinator notes: What makes this coronis and not hesperis is that it does not have 1) heavy black marks on the wings and 2) the basal area of the wings is not dark and 3) the date is too early for hesperis. It is not S. edwardsii because it doesn't have a solid black border around the wings along with the fact it is the wrong tone of orange for it and also S. aphrodite so the only species that fits is coronis. Whew......you should be able to see those others in El Paso County too....later in June and July. Mike
