Observation date: August 07, 2020

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: There were 16 of these in a small area less than 1/8 mile. I'd never observed them here before. Strongly resembles Alypia octomaculata--Eight-spotted Forester--but only has three large spots on forewing, and one tiny white spot in middle of hindwing. White edging on part of fringe. Lots of iridescent-blue highlights. Seemed to strongly prefer sweet clover blooms on the edges of roadway--especially down in the sandy drainage. Very fluttery flight.
