Observation notes: My daughter and I were hiking along Kyle Canyon Road in Mount Charleston, Nevada. We found this deceased butterfly along the trail and we were wondering what kind of butterfly this is? I have never seen one like this before. Thank you for your help.

Coordinator notes: This is an oak feeder (as caterpillars) common in Arizona and Clark County, Nevada in the Spring Mts. and a few Rocky Mountain states. In California, we have the California Sister which looks similar, but is a bit smaller-Ken Davenport
