Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I was watering the daisys, setting the nozzle below the blooms to avoid the bees, when up crawls this caterpillar on one of the stems, hoists itself on top a daisy bloom and seems to sun itself a bit--I thought probably drying itself off, then turns back and descends the stem again. Didn't observe it eating any of the foilage, and haven't seen it since.

Coordinator notes: This ID is likely, but other Spilosoma species are also possible. I cannot find reliable images of S. vagans, pteridis, or vestalis larvae online, so cannot compare those.
