Coordinator notes: I am very tempted to agree with the submitter that this is P. canadensis. The yellow marginal spot band on the underside of the forewing seems more continuous than in P. glaucus. But because of the of the angle I can't really be sure of the other field marks. P. glaucus is very common in Connecticut and to my mind that decreases the likelihood that this is P. canadensis. But I haven't personally seen this species (at least, not knowingly), so I'd be grateful for another opinion. To me, this appears to be P. glaucus. I believe the marginal spots on the ventral hindwing appear more continuous because those of the upperside are showing through the wings, making them look more continuous. Also, the border of the dark area on the underside of the hindwing is scalloped as in P. glaucus. The date is also consistent with this species -- JVC.
