Observation notes: Near a floodlight on my deck. This moth seems to be more reddish than the Platypolia mactata I submitted a couple of days ago, the AM line is also not as deeply notched at the inner margin (I think that is the right terminology, so much to learn). Peterson says the median bar is thicker on mactata, but it is pretty thick on this one, although it seems in line with specimen on BugGuide.
