Pearl Crescent
Phyciodes tharos

Observation date: September 13, 2020

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Insect was in the grass, slowly moving from one spot to another. May have been drinking the dew. It remained in one spot for a minute sometimes before moving. It's a clear morning, a slight fall coolness in the air. We are within 100 to 150 feet over Yellow Creek, in Northport, AL. This is a heavily wooded area with only a few scattered neighbors. I guessed moth because of its wing position. I'm a novice.
