Observation notes: I am in love with this butterfly and need to know what type it is. I went for a “nature walk” with my son and twice out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of the most beautiful bright purple and then it would land and almost seem camouflaged to the dirt so by the time I would find it again it would take off so fast. But it stayed with us for a good few minutes, even with my son chasing it. It was so special for me, I know I probably sound crazy. I am sorry I couldn’t get better images. I hope you can help me identify it. Besides the quick glimpses of bright purple I was able to tell that the body was white. And again when it would land and the wings closed it looked almost iridescent or so light that it was hard for me to find it in the dirt.
