Observation notes: On a wooded trail in Athabasca, Alberta with many Aspen and prairie rose (not yet blooming) in late Spring. Partly cloudy, with rain on the way tomorrow. About 19C. Insect at first would fly away as I approached and then eventually settled to the ground long enough for me to get a photo from a very close distance, less than 6" , before flying away again.
