Observation notes: Feeding on flowers in a mountain meadow near a creek at an intermediate elevation (about 6,500 feet). Sunny and warm. The combination of pictures that show a strong black stigma, a strong contrast between an orange forewing and a dull hindwing with a series of weak spots on the bottom of the hindwing says Tawny-edged to me.
