Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I'm wondering if 2 separate Tiger Swallowtail species as well as a hybrid version existed at this particular site today (see other examples). This particular individual appears closer to P. canadensis, with a more straight appearance to the yellow-black fields on the ventral hindwing and box-shaped spots on the lateral edge of the ventral hindwing. The submarginal yellow band on the ventral forewing appears mostly connected, but there might be subtle separation on a couple...which is only my hesitation in calling it a pure P. canadensis. Unfortunately I did not get a dorsal view...
