Sleepy Orange
Abaeis nicippe

Observation date: September 04, 2021
Submitted by: Zencoyote
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: A good warm day after some days of monsoonal moisture and overcast conditions. Overall observations were fewer than expected but saw a few of these in both wild areas and roadside landscape flowers. A variable flier, hovering around flowers it likes and covering large distances rapidly, making photography difficult. Typical for Sulphurs, it landed with its wings closed, but you can see the internal pattern through the backlit wings. A smallish Sulphur, but larger than Dainty, and very orange inner wings.
