Coordinator notes: Joe, this is a nice find, though I agree there is some difficulty with a definitive (bad pun) ID. the ventrum seems like definita, but the dorsum seems to be missing some of the usual black marks. perhaps it has some fulvia or theona mixed in. the sluggish behavior may be another clue that all is not well, perhaps genetically. Regardless, Definite Patch seems like the best call and it has been reported from Sierra County previously, though probably only once. Butterflies of NM has only old slide scans for illustrations, maybe your pix would be an improvement. care to send along your best to my personal email? BTW, I am off BAMONA duty from 10/16 to 11/12.
